"This artwork represents birth and the journey women go through to bear fruit. I used the stippling technique which during my making of this artwork became very tedious. I chose this method because it parallels the tiresome nine months women spend developing a fetus. This artwork conveys the development and sacrifice of the woman’s body to give life."- Tamia Burgess
