31. The Snowball Shack
Watercolour and coloured pencil on paper
15 x 52 ins
'This exuberant painting celebrates the flamboyant, 'once seen not forgotten' and 'don't blink when you drive by' Snowball Shack. The viewer is challenged to 'see' not just 'look'; is challenged to notice Bermuda's beauty where least expected. In addition, on close inspection, the painting's 'scene' is as much a collage of elements, shapes and colours. The Snowball Shack's bold presence, small and isolated, is a symbol of and a metaphor for Bermuda's struggle for its deserved place in the world.'
