'Walking our Portuguese waterdog Rosie in local parks, I often photograph the girls in the caves at Admiralty Park, illuminated only by natural light leaking in from a tunnel overlooking turquoise water. For two decades I've been the daddy-at-home, while researching whales in my spare time. Our daughters and the ocean are essential aspects of my life. Elsa attends university in Toronto and now Somers leaves for high school in Canada; gone into the big wide world, my heart aches.'
