'The motifs embroidered on this ottoman symbolise elements of Bermuda's culture that have persisted through changing times. The lizard: a token of goodwill, health and regeneration. The bicycle: a powerful symbol of hope and progress. The Bermuda kite or 'hummer': a representation of realised dreams or goals that seem unreachable. The farmer: an image of agricultural sustainability. By depicting these elements on an ottoman, I wanted to emphasise how foundational Bermuda's unique identity is in building towards its future.'
