Acrylic Paint on Cedar Wood
This piece was inspired by my trip to Tanzania. I thought back to my safari and how I was drawn to giraffes and their grace. Many giraffe species are becoming listed as critically endangered and so it is urgent to recognize their importance for so many countries. The cedar has a similar shape to the continent of Africa. In my piece, I focused on the geographical origin of giraffes. The green shapes in the background make up the map of Africa and the spots on the giraffe are representing the countries where giraffes currently live.
